Ecocor is a construction firm that designs, manufactures, delivers and assembles the most comfortable, healthy, energy efficient buildings in the North American market. We build resilient, low-carbon, net zero-ready homes. Our dream is to leave the world a healthier place for future generations. Reducing the impact on natural resources by building comfortable, healthy, energy independent homes is our way of achieving this dream.

We’ve been building Passive Houses for over 10 years. We know from experience that it takes a lot of planning and precise building techniques. In 2014, Ecocor became North America’s first manufacturer of prefab Passive Houses, the first certified Passive House component manufacturer outside of Europe.

What

There is a science (and an art) to creating the perfect Passive House. We work with architects, builders, and owners who have a commitment to high performance design and construction.

All of our construction details are Passive House components, and some are certified though the Passive House Institute in Darmstsdt Germany. Passive House is the most energy-efficient building standard in the market today. In order to become a Certified Passive House, the finished building is tested to ensure that it actually meets its design goals. No other energy standard requires this.

Our foundation, wall and roof designs as well as all structural details are currently patent pending. Our system reduces the energy consumption of a building by 80-90% overall, substantially reducing cost of ownership and carbon footprint while increasing comfort and health for the families who live in them.

Where

Ecocor is based in rural Searsmont, Maine. Our controlled environment was created to manufacture our proprietary building components, giving Ecocor construction and scheduling advantages over on-site construction.

From our bucolic location, we design and build homes all over the world. Our familiarity with the needs of cold climates here in New England translate perfectly to homes in the Great Plains, Canada, Europe and beyond. We also offer Enclosure Systems that work in warmer climate zones, our Optima System.

How

We panelize our homes in our factory, and they are then shipped to the project location for erection by an Ecocor Site Supervisor and your local GC. You will have a weather and airtight home in a matter of weeks, unlike traditional construction. We use only materials with low embodied energy, that are zero VOC, and are sustainable.
